I want to apologize for not updating as much as I would like, but then I remember that I do work full time, show houses on the side and have infant twins and I remember that I do the best I can and update when it is possible! I am one busy lady, but I really do enjoy keeping all our friends and family updated, especially with pictures of our gorgeous babies!

The updates are:

Cambria: we went to the Dr. on May 14th and Cami was 11 1/2 lbs and 22 1/4 inches long (I think, I need to check their paper work) she is in the 40-50 th %tile and doing GREAT! Dr. Clark was very impressed with her alertness and her head control. Grandma Susan bought the girls a jumperoo and Cami is in love with it! It is so cute to see her jump! She hasn't figured out how to bend both knees and jump up and down, so she uses one leg at a time and bounces from side to side or sometimes front to back. She looks like she is doing a hip-hop routine! It is ADORABLE! She is learning new "words" everyday and even talks back and forth with Kaylin. She is very social and loves when people smile at her and she smiles back with joy. She eats 4-6 oz at a time and is sleeping through the night with no problems. Cambria is still a pretty easy going baby. She has been more fussy lately because she is teething! My sisters and I all had our 1st tooth at 4 months, so this is not uncommon in our family, but I know it hurts her and I feel so bad! Cami is starting to let out little chuckels, the 1st stage of laughter and we are in love with it! In the mornings it takes her a while to open her eyes and when she finally does she always gives me the biggest smile and usually a little "hello". She is my sunshine and I am so blessed to be her Mommy!

Kaylin- My litttle Kay-Kay! She is so feisty and spirited! At the Dr. appointment she weighed almost 11lbs and was only 1/4 in shorter than her sister. Dr. Clark was also impressed with her awareness of the world around her and head control, even though its not quiet as good as her sisters. Kaylin loves to talk and to make funny faces. She has adorable little flirty smiles and huge smiles that take up her whole face! She also wakes up super smiley and it just melts my heart. She sleeps through the nights most of the time but still enjoys cuddle time smooshed up against mommy in the morning and sometimes 4am :-). I dont mind those times either. I was telling David the other day that I know me and the girls will always have our "bed time" together where we are all curled up watching tv or sleeping. Kaylin likes to run the show. She is very opinionated already, which I have to admit I love that about her. She still hates being in the car and 1/2 the time will scream her head off. It does not make for a fun car ride. I am still holding out hope that she gets over this quickly! She eats about 4 oz on average but lately has been eating more often and sometimes eats 6oz. Both girls are standing up when you hold them and love using their legs. Kaylin likes this more than Cami and will push herself up as much as possible. Lately she has liked to put her head back and look at things upside down. Oy--this girl! She is a delight! How did I get so lucky to be her Mom!?

David's 1st Fathers Day is Sunday and we are blessed to be able to honor him and the other wonderful men and fathers in our lives. We did a photo shoot with Amy, my wonderful friend and very talented photographer (elmwoodcourtphotography.com) as a surprise for David and made him a photobook on Shutterfly. Its PERFECT! We put the girls in the "Bigggest Little Trojans Fan" shirt, the one that I used to tell David we were pregnant almost a year ago. It was so sweet to see how far we have come in a year! Amazing! We also used David's Papa's USC blanket and our Daddy onsies! The pics and the book were just awesome and I am so glad we have them!

Thank you for loving our family! God bless you and all that is going on in your life right now!

XOXO-Tiff

Mothers Day

Tomorrow will be my 1st Mothers Day and I am still at a loss on how to feel about it. That may sound strange but for so many years it has been such a day of sadness for me, its hard to change your whole thought process around. My heart is aching for all of those people who aren't moms yet. The ones, just like I was last year, who see motherhood as this mystic dream that may not ever come true for them. My heart also aches for the people who always wanted kids and it was something that just wasn't in the cards for them. Either they had fertility issues, didn't find a mate at the appropriate childbearing years, or just weren't sure about parenthood and the time slipped through their fingers. You know, the little old ladies in church who don't stand when they honor the mothers on Mothers Day. I always wonder about them, and how they feel. I wonder how many fertile people think of these other women on Mothers Day, if any of them do?

I also kinda bugs me that some mothers seem so prideful, to the point of being arrogant, about being a Mom. I feel like there are people out there that act down right superior just because they have children. I don't feel this way at all. I feel HONORED. I feel like it should be ME thanking God and thanking my family for letting me be a Mom, and to the 2 most perfect little girls ever. How did I ever get so lucky? I always felt, before I had my kids, that mom' have a click. If you are a mom you are allowed in, if you aren't a mom, your out. Period. That seems self righteous to me.

What about all the aunts, babysitters, neighbors, friends, teachers and family who know, love and care for your children. Shouldn't they be honored too? I am trying to take this day for what it is, a day to honor Mothers. Which means a day to honor the woman who do EVERYTHING and then some all while loving their families. I think its a great concept. I guess my fertility bitterness is something I will carry with me forever.

For all you moms out there, Happy Mothers Day! Thank you for all your hard work and dedication. The world would be a sad lonely place without a Mom whose shoulder you could cry on and whose lap you could crawl into. I, personally, have an amazing Mom who LOVES me always, and I know that, and honestly that is that most important job of a Mom, to make her family fill loved. I am doubly blessed because I also have an amazing mother in law who also makes me feel loved and who respects me. I am blessed to have amazing Mom's in my life and great examples of strong women who have conquered the difficulties of motherhood with a blink of an eye, or at least thats how they have made it seem. I am surrounded by great examples of awesome women blessed to be mothers.

I will try to let the sting of infertility rest tomorrow and embrace the love and respect that Mothers Day is suppose to be about. But I wont forget all those sad souls who will have trouble just getting out of bed tomorrow. My heart will be aching along with theirs and I will be praying that they too one day, get to experience this amazing journey that is called Motherhood. I will not be arrogant or overly prideful, I will feel more blessed and honored than ever before. Thank you Lord for this blessing you have trusted me with.

The girls turned 2 months old this week! In some ways its seems like they have been here forever and others it seems like yesterday I was still pregnant! 1 year ago I was in one of the worst funks ever as we were hitting 2 solid years of infertility and I really thought being a mom was something that may never happen for me. Here I am a year later sitting in my living room which now looks like a daycare center hooked up to my breast pump, writing in a blog for my BABIES while my husband holds 2 bottles up to the 2 most beautiful babies ever! Who would have thought? Not me! Don't get me wrong, having twins is HARD, VERY hard! But, of course, worth it!

The other day we were not having an easy day. The girls were fussy, I had to work very late and we were both tired. We were down in the dumps and not feeling happy. Then out of the blue, mid-sentence, Kaylin looked up at David and smiled the biggest smile ever! It melted both of our hearts and also made all the hard work, long nights, stress and money worth it. Its crazy how one little smile can melt away all your fears and worries in the world!

Milestones for this month:

*Cambria has slept through the night 3 times now! Woo Hoo!
*Both girls are smiling! Not really HUGE smiles but definite smiles, at certain
people and things.
*Their personalities are becoming more and more apparent.
*The are starting to learn how to "play" with toys...starting, trying. :-)

Now enjoy some pictures of my BEAUTIFUL babies!!!

Easter was great for us! 1st off, its always wonderful to remember the joy of Easter and all it means to us! Thank you God for sending your son to die for our sins and make eternal life possible! All day all I could think of was how awesome it was that I had 2 Beautiful, Amazing little MIRACLES to dress up in tiny perfect little frilly dresses for Easter. ME--I have these two little girls! Its still so odd to me! I can not get over how BLESSED I am! Thank you Lord for giving me the gift of Motherhood.

We started our day with our normal mad dash to get ready, but we are getting better and better at this because we were out the door 10 minutes EARLIER than we had planned! :-) We made it to church at Central Community in Riverside where David's Uncle Eric is the pastor. The weather was awesome, and the 10:30 service took place outside on their park like lawn. We had brought our own chairs and sat in the back under a tree and could still hear the service. It was very nice.

After church we went to Uncle Eric's and Aunt Debbie's with the rest of the family, Phil, Dalene, Julia, John, Stephanie, Patrick, Reggie, Derek, Erica, Uncle Dan, Aunt Kathleen, Will and Silvie and had a nice lunch and good visit.

Uncle Derek and Kaylin, she was so in love with him!
We went from Eric's to my parents house and had some more food, which was nice since we never seem to have time to eat at home. Then we took some pictures of the girls! All in all, it was a fantastic Easter!

Hollywood Kids!

So long story short, we sent out an email with the professional pictures our friend Val took of the girls (I am sure most of you got that email!) and next thing we know they were shown to a Hollywood director and we were asked to be a part of his new “tv” show! We started talking with a great casting agent and had 2 dates scheduled for filming! We knew that Anthony Zuiker, the creator or CSI, (yes the creator, the master mind behind the whole show!) was somehow involved but that is pretty much all we knew. On Monday March 30th we show up at the beach in Malibu for our 1st of 2 days of shooting.

Everyone was SO nice and kind to us! And we learned a LOT about the “business”. The girls both got paid, a GOOD amount, and can only be on set for 2 hours and work a total of 20 minutes. Of course working for them meant being held by an actor. When we arrived at the set and were taken to our trailer and met with our nurse for the day. When infants are on set its law that they have a nurse and social worker who are assigned to make sure they are safe and to time out how long they are on set and how much they work.

We went down to the beach where the scene was being filmed and got to meet Anthony Zuiker, the CSI guy, and the rest of the crew. Everyone was so polite and catered to our every need! When the staff was setting up for a new scene Anthony came over and talked to us and explained the show. It’s a whole new type of media! Basically he wrote a 100 page screen play that an author turned into a novel, the novel is a digital version that will be read using forms of media like an ipod/iphone, computer, etc. once every couple of chapters there will be a movie clip that goes along with the book. So its basically ½ book, ½ movie! They call it a “digi-novel”. Very new and unique!

Anthony was very excited about his new project and it was so great to sit and talk to him about his new great ideas! He recently retired from CSI and said he was thrilled for the change. In his words , this project “is NOT your Dad’s CSI.” He showed us a clip that was already finished, on his personal ipod EEEk!, and its definitely a DARK show, errr, digi-novel!. But it looks very good and I am still in awe over the concept of both the new form of media as well as the plot behind this novel.

The 1st day the girls filmed what will be a dream scene of the hero of the film on the beach with his wife and child, the “child” is my 2 girls! The hero of the show is a hottie and had his shirt off the whole time! I didn’t mind and I don’t think the girls minded being held by him either! ;-) They ended up using one of the girls’ car seats for the scene and still needed it when it after the girls were finished “working”, so they sent a stagehand to Babies R Us and got us a new car seat to KEEP! (And gave us our car seat back the 2nd day of filming) So we got a free $100 new car seat! Woo Hoo!

The day was GREAT! The only down side was the drive! Uggh, almost 3 hours each way. The good thing out of the drive was that we stopped in Claremont and had dinner at Heroes and Legends Bar and Grill, which was excellent! Claremont was a super cute little town and we had a good time even though we were all exhausted from the long day.

I'll give you one guess of whose car this is! :-)

The 2nd day we had to be in LA by 12:30, which was so nice! It was only 1 ½ hour drive with a later call time, Woo Hoo! My mom came with us and it was so nice to have the company and help. The filming site was a huge filming warehouse that had different rooms set up as different rooms like an office, kitchen, bedrooms, etc. Our nurse this day was AWESOME, very friendly and truly had the girls best interest at heart. We enjoyed having her help us. Our social worker was the same girl, Rachel, as the 1st day, and she was excellent as well! Very sweet girl!

Upon arrival the nurse informed us that the scene was very dark and scary! One of the directing assistances and Anthony came up and explained what scenes the girls would be filming, and you should have seen the look on my moms face! I think she almost grabbed the girls and RAN!

Of course we were all a little stand-offish, but my main concern is safety! And of course the child worker and nurse were there to make sure everything was ok as well. When we went down to the set we discovered that yes, it was dark and scary but that also lighting and music make movies/shows SO much for “real” and “scary”. This just looked like a basement of a warehouse with a movie crew in it.

All in all, we had a GREAT time! Everyone was VERY accommodating, friendly and sweet! It was an experience of a lifetime and I am glad we did it! Side note—I would not let my toddler or older child be in anything that was scary or “dark”, I wouldn’t let them do anything in film that I wouldn’t let them do at home and our morals and values would have to be the same at “work” and “home”. So far the girls were just held and taken very good care of, that I will allow!

I received all the pics that our friend Val took and added them all to the "1 week old" photo album, check them out! They are WONDERFUL!

The girls feel and look like they are growing so well! I am anxious for their next Dr.'s appointment, which isn't until May, to see what their heights and weights all. Cambria feels so heavy to me now! David thinks she is around 8lbs. Kaylin is growing well too! Kay still fits in some of her preemie stuff but they are both mainly in newborn size! That is a BIG jump for our girls. Its so funny because most kids only get to wear newborn outfits once, if they are lucky, our girls are just now starting to fit in them at 5 weeks! Its actually kind of nice, because they have such cute little outfits that people have given us and I have gotten them and we get to enjoy them. Its also helps that we usually wear at least 2 or 3 outfits a day.

The girls are starting to stay awake a little longer and even "play" some! They coo and caw and kinda bat at some toys that hang down from their play mat, more like more their arms and then their arms accidentally run into the toys, but still, I can be a proud mommy anyhow!

We got the girls birth certificates the other day which was exciting, it made them seem "official"! I never noticed before, but it says "TWIN" on their birth certificates and then it says born 1st and born 2nd. How cute is that? :-)

Our time home, without work is coming to a close and that makes me sad. David returns on Monday the 6th, only a week and a couple days away. I think that will be a HUGE adjustment. I have REALLY, sincerely enjoyed this time to bond as a family. We are incredibly blessed that we were able to take 6 weeks off together and they have been an amazing roller coaster of blessings and learning. I would not trade them for ANYTHING! I still have to pinch myself sometimes, this is my life, with an amazing husband and 2 incredible daughters. MY daughters! I, ME, yep ME, I'm a MOM!!! I know I have mentioned this before but when you wait so long to have this little blessing, or in my case BLESSINGS, in your arms it really makes you appreciate that simple little word M-O-M so much!

Disneyland trip

So while I was pregnant one of the most popular things people liked to say was, "Enjoy it NOW!" I understood what they were saying but it kinda bothered me. We waited so long for a family and were so thrilled to be pregnant. I LOVED the 4 years David and I had as just us, but we were ready for that to change. People would go on and on about never being able to do anything. David and I knew that wouldn't be us! You have to live life, and kids can adjust! So with all that being said, we decided that on the girls one month old birthday we would go to Disneyland! Some might call us crazy, in fact a lot of people have, but we had a wonderful time!

We didn't leave the house until 3pm. We decided last minute to go, and so we pulled into the parking lot a little after 4pm. We fed and changed the girls in the parking lot and we looked at the clock right at 4:34, the exact minute 1 month later from when they pulled Kaylin out! Its crazy how quickly time goes by. Everyone says that, but its even more real when you have a newborn. I can say that I would go back 4 weeks and do this all again in a heartbeat! I feel like they have already grown SO much!

We went to California Adventure 1st because my sister and my nephew were there (one of the reasons we decided to go that day). We had a corn dog and then met up with them at the Toy Story ride. It was so sweet to see my adorable 3 year old nephews face light up and him run to me when he saw me standing there. It makes my heart skip a beat just thinking of it! I love that kid like my own! He was so excited to see us, we walked around with them for a while and would sit and people watch while they went on rides. We fed the girls when they were hungry and changed them when they needed to be, it was just like being at home, except we weren't! No big deal. I had a sling that I carried Kaylin in most of the day and David put Cambria in the Baby Bjorn for a while also! It was great seeing him looking so Dad-ish! I loved it!

We wanted to make sure that we at least went into Disneyland on their 1st trip, so we went inside the gates and took pictures and then went to downtown Disney for dinner. Luckily it worked out that our cousins, Julia, Stephanie, Erica and Dalene were in the area and able to meet us for dinner! We had a great time with them!

After dinner we had some yummy Beignets for dessert we headed to the car. Again we fed and changed the girls and headed home. So 6 hours out and about and the girls were great, we had a blast and we all survived! Enjoy the pics!
